The PlayHouse is a place that inspires children to become creators and explorers of the world, and that is exactly what we will be doing during our week of camp….exploring our community!  The PlayHouse and its water table will be our home base as we explore the Illinois River through dynamic art and science activities. We’ll explore the plants and animals that call the river home, discuss the history of the river, and learn about the vessels used to travel along it. We’ll also talk about a variety of environmental issues related to the river and how we can protect it. Then, we will let Peoria become our learning lab!

Through collaborations with local organizations and off-site visits to places like the Peoria Zoo, Luthy Botanical Garden, the Peoria Riverfront Museum, the Glen Oak Park Lagoon, Forest Park Nature Center, and Camp Wokanda, our campers will deepen their interests and become explorers of the world!
