Play-HOUSE-Party: A new way to play!

We’re baaaaaack…. and we’ve missed you!

The Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum is excited to announce that beginning on Saturday, March 13, the PlayHouse will be OPEN and available for a PlayHOUSEParty for up to 20 children (40 total participants), which is the perfect balance of getting your family or small group together AND maintaining safety during your two hour stay. Fun AND safe? Yes please!

How It Works:

  • The capacity of your PlayHOUSEParty: Admission for up to 20 children (40 total participants).
  • Length of your PlayHOUSEParty: up tor 2 full hours
  • Cost of your PlayHOUSEParty: $350
  • Member pricing (available to anyone who was an active member on March 15, 2020): $300
  • Add on a drop-in art project to your PlayHOUSEParty: $50

PlayHOUSEParty Rules:

  • No food is allowed in the museum. Visitors are welcomed to eat outside the museum in Glen Oak Park or on our porch.
  • Groups may not be larger than 40 individuals total. No more than 40 visitors may enter the museum during a single rental (this includes parents picking children up, etc).

PlayHOUSEParty Safety Protocols:

  • Face masks must be worn by all guests ages two and over in all areas
  • Hand sanitizer stations are available thoughout the museum
  • The museum and all exhibits and toys are cleaned and disinfected thoroughly after each rental using non-toxic spray shown to kill the COVID virus
  • To maximize the safety of you and your guests, selected exhibit components will not be available due to COVID-related restrictions. These include:
    • Costumes, dolls, stethescopes, and fabric and plush toys have been removed
    • Books and bean bags have been removed; the hayloft (reading area and flying pic interactive) is closed

How to Reserve your PlayHOUSEParty:

Visit the Noble Center between 8:30am and 5pm Monday through Friday (until 6:30pm on Wednesdays). If you have questions about parties, call us in advance at 309-682-1200 or email us at playhouse@peoriaparks.org. At the moment, due to limited staffing, rentals can only be booked in person. Full payment is due at the time of booking. 

Before Your PlayHOUSEParty:

  • Please bring your own face coverings. In keeping with State guidelines, masks that cover the nose and mouth will be required for all guests age 2 or older during this programming.

Health Check: The health and safety of our visitors, staff and community is our #1 priority. If any of the following are true of your party the morning of your scheduled visit, please do not come to the Museum:

  • Fever of more than 100.4 F
  • Coughing, sneezing, chills, runny nose, or difficulty breathing
  • Exposure to a COVID-19-infected individual within the previous 14 days
  • The following symptoms: cough, sore throat, breathing difficulty or shortness of breath, muscle aches, new or unusual headache, chills, gastrointestinal problems, or loss of taste or smell

If any of these are true, please contact us prior to your session start time to reschedule your visit (subject to availability). Staff and volunteers are required to complete the same health check. Must choose another date and time at the time of rescheduling.

During Your PlayHOUSEParty:

  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the museum
  • Drinking fountains will be disabled
  • All guests must wear masks at all times. If you have an individual in your party who cannot wear a mask, we do have a limited number of face shields for sale.
