Join us in Real Tools, our makerspace, to build something special for someone you love. Then come to the Art Room for story times celebrating the diversity of families at 1pm and 3 pm. All activities are included with museum admission or membership.

Real Tools workshops teach children how to make and how to invent. They show children how to solve problems — and it compels them to find the problems they want to solve.

This workshop gives children the opportunity to invent, build, and learn basic circuitry. 

Real Tools workshops are $10 per child. PlayHouse Everywhere members receive one free workshop per month per child. Materials are included. Registration is required.

Real Tools Workshop: 3D Modeling with iSTEAM

For this special Real Tools Workshop, we are working with the iSTEAM studio to celebrate Computer Science!  This workshop will teach children the basics of 3D modeling. Younger participants (ages 5-8) will start with playdough, so they understand three-dimensionality. This workshop is for children ages 5 and up. 

Real Tools workshops are $10 per child. PlayHouse Everywhere members receive one free workshop per month per child. Materials are included. Please note, adult help is often required, and we do ask that an adult be available / participating for the duration of the workshop. Artists can use light and shadow to add special effects to their art pieces. In this Real Tools Workshop we will be creating an art piece that is affected by light or shadow. How will it change if you shine light on it? What does its shadow look like? Use your imagination to create a piece of art that is affected by light and shadow!
