A Peoria Park District Facility

Programs for Girl Scouts

We love Girl Scouts at the Peoria PlayHouse, and we offer a variety of ways for your troop to have fun with us! You can visit and earn a badge, explore the museum as a troop, work with us on a special project, or attend our annual lock-in! A 5:1 scout to adult ratio is required for all programs.

To book a Girl Scout Program for your troop, please call our Family and Public Programs Educator, Adrienne Huffman, at 309-323-6894.

Visit Only

$5 per scout, special PlayHouse button for your sash or vest included. Free admission for one leader.  Additional chaperones are $3 each.

Scouts may choose to visit the museum at a special group rate by booking a PlayHouse Adventure Fieldtrip (see School and Group Programs for more information). No classroom time or badge-work is included in this option.

Visit and Earn a Badge

$12 per scout, patch and admission included. Free admission for one leader.  Additional chaperones are $5 each.

Programs are 60-90 minutes long, and include time in the exhibits and the classroom, as well as unlimited use of the PlayHouse before and after your program.

Daisy: Petal

In this unique program, your troop can earn a petal of your choice, with a custom-designed program, just for you!

Brownie: Home Scientist

Girls will experiment with various areas of science within our exhibits and in the classroom: Magnification and magnetism in our Sci-Lab, density and static electricity in our water table, basic laws of physics in Motion Commotion, and finally, thermodynamics, as we wind down the session with a snack.

Junior: Animal Habitats

While exploring our water table, girls will learn all about local wildlife in and around the Illinois River, and share what they’ve learned with a creative performance in our theater. Later, we’ll move to our RealTools construction space to create a home and a snack for a feathered friend.

Cadette: Woodworker

Your troop will have the opportunity to take over our RealTools space, while they practice using and creating with a variety of hand and power tools. Each girl will have an opportunity to make a unique project that incorporate all of their new carpentry skills!

New in 2018: STEM Badges!

The Peoria PlayHouse now offers Girl Scouts the opportunity to earn badges through the new Girl Scouts and STEM Initiative.

Daisy:

Board Game Design Challenge, Roller Coaster Design Challenge, Model Car Design Challenge, What Robots Do, How Robots Move, and Design a Robot

Brownies:

Award Programs

Would you or your troop like to earn your Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award at the PlayHouse by collaborating with us on a special project? Let’s set up a meeting to discuss the possibilities!
