August Moon Festival is celebrated in Greece on the day of the full moon in August. The August Moon is the brightest moon of the year. In addition, this year August is special because we get to experience a once-in-a-blue-moon event with TWO full August moons, and they will both be SUPERmoons!
Join us at the Peoria PlayHouse as we host a special moon-themed story time and art activity this Sunday, August 6th in the Art Room from 12:30-3:30pm.

Papel Picado is a way to decorate during times of fun and fiesta. We will learn about the history read a short bi-lingual story and have a fun time during this Culturally Connected Celebration!

Dr. Hunter from ISU is buzzing over to share her worm farm wonders and dish out fascinating insights into bug-based cuisine that will make your taste buds tingle! But that’s not all – we’re transforming the cave area of the PlayHouse into a bug bonanza with a temporary exhibit featuring preserved bugs and interactive bug facts for hands-on exploration. It’s a bug-tastic event you won’t want to miss!
