Host your child’s birthday party at the PlayHouse! Enjoy our bright party rooms, fun and interactive workshops, and three floors of fun for you and your guests to explore!
Parties at The PlayHouse
General Hours
The PlayHouse Basic & Deluxe Party packages are offered:
- Saturday from 11:00 am or 2:00 pm
- Sunday from 12:30 pm or 3:00 pm
PlayHouse Basic
$275 Non-Members / $225 Members
- Admission for 15 children (ages 1 – 15; this includes all children, regardless of family membership status). Adults accompanying children may enter free of charge.
- Birthday child free.
- Additional guests may be added at the regular museum admission price
- All-Day Play in the Museum – You and your guests enjoy the museum from open to close on the day of the party.
- 90-minute classroom rental – Julep or Art Room.
- Party Pal to assist during the party.
PlayHouse Deluxe
$375 Non-Members / $325 Members
- Admission for 25 children (ages 1 – 15; this includes all children, regardless of family membership status). Adults accompanying children may enter free of charge.
- Birthday child free.
- All-Day Play in the Museum – You and your guests enjoy the museum from open to close on the day of the party.
- $1.50 discount for up to 10 additional guests.
- 90-minute classroom rental – Julep or Art Room only.
- Party Pal to assist during the party.
After Hours
The After Hours Party packages are offered:
- Wednesday to Saturday from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm
- Sunday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Other times the museum is closed to the public may be available – please ask!
PlayHouse After Hours Basic
$450 Non-Members / $390 Members
- Admission for 15 or fewer children (ages 1 – 15; this includes all children, regardless of family membership status). Adults accompanying children may enter free of charge.
- 2 hours in the museum after we are closed to the public.
- Families may opt to have Real Tools opened for After Hours parties, with an additional $75 staffing and materials fee.
- Party pal to assist during the party.
PlayHouse After Hours Deluxe
$500 Non-Members / $440 Members
- Admission for 16-30 children (ages 1 – 15; this includes all children, regardless of family membership status). Adults accompanying children may enter free of charge.
- 2 hours in the museum after we are closed to the public.
- Families may opt to have Real Tools opened for After Hours parties, with an additional $75 staffing and materials fee.
- Party pal to assist during the party.
PlayHouse After Hours Premium
$550 Non-Members / $500 Members
- Admission for 31 or more children (ages 1 – 15; this includes all children, regardless of family membership status). Adults accompanying children may enter free of charge.
- 2 party rooms.
- 2 hours in the museum after we are closed to the public.
- Families may opt to have Real Tools opened for After Hours parties, with an additional $75 staffing and materials fee.
- Party pal to assist during the party.
Workshops
Selected 20-minute workshops are offered for an extra $35 with a Basic party or $45 with a Deluxe party. By adding a workshop parties gain an extra half hour added to the 90-minute time frame.
Real Tools: Booking an After Hours party? For $75, upgrade and add a Real Tools experience. Kids can make anything they want using wood, recyclables, and real tools like hammers, glue guns, and saws – all supervised by our trained facilitators!
Fizzy Painting
Experiment with baking soda and vinegar in an artistic way and take home a very unique painting.
Painting
Create your own painting to take home – using lots of different ways to get paint on paper, but NO paintbrushes allowed!
Fossils
Learn about fossils, handle real fossils, and make your own “fossil” to take home!
Booking Your Party or Rental
For a Party at the PlayHouse:
Birthday families may use the rental room, our porch, or the picnic tables in Glen Oak Park, for cake and snacks. If you wish to bring snacks for your party we require at least one week’s notice to be sure we can accommodate your needs. No food, candy, or beverages are allowed outside the birthday room.
While all reservations must be made at least 3 weeks prior to the date requested, we recommend booking parties 1-2 months in advance!

Black Out Dates
- January 1: New Year’s Day
- April 20: Easter
- July 4: Independence Day
- November 28: Thanksgiving
- December 24: Christmas Eve
- December 25: Christmas Day
- December 31: New Year’s Eve
Reservation/Cancellation Policy
All reservations must be made at least 3 weeks prior to the date requested. All birthday parties require $150 deposit. After hours parties also require an additional $50 refundable cleaning fee. Deposits are due at the time of booking. The balance is due 2 weeks prior to the date of the rental.
If a rental is canceled more than 2 weeks prior to the date of the rental, 50% of the deposit will be refunded. If the rental is canceled less than 2 weeks prior to the date of the rental, no refund will be issued. In either situation, a rental may be rescheduled for the same calendar year for $25.
